Well my boyfriend lied to me the first year we were together all the time. One way to tell they're lying is if you ask them a question that normally wouldn't cause someone to get angry, but they get mad about it and try to make you feel like you're wrong for even asking it. Another way is if they turn away while they're answering you or start to do something else. I know alot of people will say they're lying if they don't look you in the eye but I wouldn't rely on that since many people feel uncomfortable looking other people in the eye even if they're telling the truth. Also, you can tell they're lying if you ask them something and they answer quickly and then move onto a different subject or just avoid the question entirely.

It depends. Theres MANY ways you can tell a person is lying. If they don't look at you directly in the eyes and look down instead is one way or if they don't sound convincing or secure. Then again, some people are pretty good at lying.

I have found from experience in my own personal life that a person lying to me usually will not hold eye contact and will usually look down or to the side as they are answering me or telling me a lie. They also sometimes tend to fidget.

If you know them and you think they are you can usually tell because there is always a sign like... smile or trying to hold one back, twitching of the nose or eye(s), looking to the left like they are thinking of something, or looking away from you as they answer

Lots of signs are there, not looking you directly in the eyes, fidgeting when they are telling the lie, their pupils will dialate. And the best way is to trust you gut feeling, if you trust your instincts you will be right almost every time.

When they don't look you in the eye or they touch their face. I know when my kids are lying as they always look away from me and my daughter touches her hair.

Face to face. Watch for body language, ie; fidgeting, shifting weight, toutching the face, and especially the "lookin left" thing.

I don't think you really can unless you catch them up. Listen closely to what they are saying. Write it down if you have to. Bring it up to them when they least expect it. otherwise, it you find out a better way let me know.
