I am thinking of getting a snake, I need a snake that is shorter than 2 feet, is a perfect snake to play with,non-venomous,dosen't bite, not aggresive and is not the size of wiffle bat.

Sounds like you should consider a sand boa:

Males will stay close to the size you want, females will get larger, but are still relatively small considering the size most snakes will get.

A Ball Python is going to get around 5 feet or longer and be the wiffle ball bat that you said you didn't want. A cornsnake or a king snake is going to run about 4 1/2 to 6 feet but not be as big as round as the python.

The Sand Boa is the best thing to get and is exactly what you described you wanted. Males get between 1 - 2 feet long with females getting about 3 feet. They do get thick, but nothing huge. They are docile, not aggressive one bit. I have a rough scale sand boa and he is a baby to hold. He was captive bred and I have never had a problem with him. I also just got a pair of Saharan Sand Boas which looks like the Kenyan Sand Boa and I am beginning to breed them. The two I got were wild caught, and eventhough they were used to handling, they are also very docile and calm. They are calm snakes that usually like to hide under the substrate in the cage. They don't squirm and thrash around when you hold them, they are an all around nice snake.

I bought my rough scale from a pet store and paid $129 for him. I went to a reptile show and paid $35 a piece for the other ones. I have seen them in pet stores for the same price as the rough scale. So if you decide to get one, see if there is a reptile (herp) show in your area. Also, do some research on them. They are easy to keep because you don't need to worry about alot of stuff like other snakes. Only a very little water bowl because too much water can give them respiratory infections.

I would whole heartedly suggest one of the type of sand boas.

You should consider a ball python. They eat small rodents but they are very gentle.

A black snakes eats eggs or live animals and are non-venomous but they can get to be over 8 feet long.

garder snakes can be really nice. Not sure how big corns get, but they're also pretty tame. I'm actually going to be breeding them sometime this fall. I'm looking for a male-female pair >.<

Kingsnakes are BEAUTIFUL. If you go to kingsnake.com, they have a lot of classifieds with very beautiful snakes. I wish I could afford them right now... ^.^
