I lived in L.A., and I can tell you it's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. Of course, it also depends on where in L.A. you live. I liked living in Santa Monica and also in Venice. If you live close to the ocean like I did, you don't have the dirty air. The seabreeze blows it east, out into the valley, dude. I liked Santa Monica and Venice - the roller skating along the bike path at the beach which goes all the way down to Redondo Beach. Great scenes, warm weather, quaint restauraunts, great nightlife. I now live in northern California, where the air is much cleaner and the traffic much better.

It all depends which part of LA you go to. Some parts are nice. I know a lot of parts that I saw in LA were really run down and ugly. The people on the subway did not look welcoming either.
Before visiting LA, all I heard was that it was so dangerous. But it was much better than my expectations, so it was good time for me.

Not really, but then again, I think LA is often portrayed very negatively (esp. in movies, tv, etc), so I wasn't expecting all that much. I know it has its plus sides though.
But Hollywood is different entirely, if you were thinking it would be more like that. It helps also to have a tourist map of the city's good spots to uncover them, as LA is a massive city with all kinds of variety.

Well I went to UCLA so I technically lived in LA for 4 years, and I thought it was pretty cool. I loved the weather (I had grown up in Chicago). I guess the tourist stuff wasnt that great (the traffic is hell in downtown LA) but it was definitley a great place to live for the 4 years of my college life.

All that and more. I passed ICE CUBE in his BMW on the freeway, and saw Cuba Godding, Jr., Drew Carey, and Dave Mirra at Katana Robata Sushi Bar. Cuba is one of the nicest, most humble people I've ever met by the way.

Why did't you asked me about Houston, so I can earn 2 points from it? I attended a trade show in Houston last year and visited the Astrodome. I touched the spaceship flew by Armstrong with my right hand. It felt good. Yea, so dam good, my right hand, yea.
