Alot of different people use my computer, and I'm just wondering if there's a way I can make my own folder with a password so no one else but me can gain access to it.

Yes, you can.

If you are using Windows XP or higher and you are using a password to log on to your computer.

Open Windows Explorer and select the file that you want to keep private. Then right click the mouse on it and select the Properties option. Then go to the Sharing Tab in the dialog box. Then look at the top section and read what is there. When you put in a check mark for the Make this Folder Private then it should limit access to anyone else who logs on to to the computer.

Of course with Windows nothing is perfect and if someone logs on as the Administrator to your computer then they can gain access to this file by going into the the Documents and Settings Folder and then into your sub-folder (which has your log in name on it).

Well it matters what kind of computer u have if u have a Windows xp or vista you can create a screen name with a password and there is a setting that lets you hide all the files in My Documents from people that are not logged in to that screen name. Otherwise you should just compress the files and make and encryption key.

Yeah..You zip the folder and create a password for that zip folder...Only if you give the correct password will it open....Alternatively, you rename the folder as 255 while holding the alt down...It'll create a blank space(Ascii code)...Then go to the customize tab and in the icon category you can see a blank space...select it and your folder will look invisible to all...even to you...but since you know the location, you can find it easily...

Yes. Right click on the folder and under properties, select sharing. There you can determine who sees the folder or whether it's password protected. Check out "Learn more about sharing and security" found under that drop-down menu.

You can zip the files together and encrypt it so that anyone who needs access to it needs the password. In the properties of the zip file choose encrypt and type in the password.

here are free programs that create a virtual drive that can only be accessed by password:
http://www.truecrypt.org/
http://www.freeotfe.org/
http://www.cypherix.co.uk/cryptainerle/

another option that i've personally used is to use axcrypt (http://www.axantum.com/AxCrypt) it compresses one or many files to a program file that you must enter the password (or a keyfile) to decrypt, and you are done working with the files, it encrypts them again, automatically.
