It's insane. It's gotten to the point that if anyone asks a question regarding race they have to say something like "I'm not racist, I just want to know." The issue of racism has become the Salem Witch Trials of the modern USA.

Because a lot of times, no pun intended, it's a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

The media has played a large role making race an inflammatory issue; they have done little to foster understanding and tolerance. Gosh, if the media eliminated this hot-bed issue, they'd lose a ratings giant.

Aside from that, politics have served to make race more of an issue than it should be; people were "disenfranchised" during FL elections. Congressional districts have been re-drawn according to racial demographics (presumably to favor one party or another).

Ignorance is probably the largest factor in allowing race-related questions to be perceived as racist. People are too quick to presume the worst about other people and fail to recognize when someone is asking a question to gain understanding. I am as white as the day is long and sometimes I just want to understand the whys and wherefores to observations I make.

Organizations such as NAACP, et al, continue to make race an issue and keep it at the forefront of people's minds. Given that people of all races now represent us in government, I would argue that race-derived organizations have outlived their usefulness. Now they only serve to feed the media frenzy that keeps ratings high.

Until we no longer identify ourselves according to race, but rather according to more important identifying characteristics such as a person's integrity, the issue of racism (real and perceived) will remain with us.

Yeah, it's pretty sad, especially when racism is actually part of the body's natural self-defense mechanisms (defense against that which you do not know). Humans use it to preserve cultures and traditions for many generations. Only in these modern times is that Nature being unfurled to the world's degradation.

Even the liberal freaks are racist too - they just try their best to hide their natural feelings. This is what makes them weak - they spend part of their energies suppressing their human nature instead of acknowledging and using it.

It's a difference with someone being racist and someone racially profiling, stereotyping and generalizing. From what I've seen, many people come on here asking questions, being in-sensitive to another race that is not their own by saying "Why do All?" or mentioning one race as a whole instead of saying people in general which causes conflict.

Because is to bad to read, "Why black people are lazy?" or Why white people hate Latins?", etc etc and at the end of such questions many finish the question saying "I'm not racist.." When you stereotype a group that's racism, perhaps, Why people mention the word "races" that much? Humans are just one race, here aren't other human races, but the Homo Sapience. The human race it divided in ethnic groups. So is time to learn how to respect the other to stop making these kind of mistakes that contributes nothing good to our world either to our society. We have to learn how to judge people by their individual actions and not because belongs to a certain ethnic group. I hope we'll learn soon to left a better world to our children in the future.
