im getting this 86 bronco xlt tomorrow and ive seen it a few times and drove it a few times. but i dont know to much about them. my Q is. he said its runny rough because the cat coverter is pluged, so he fixed it so it sounds alil better i know it needs to be replaced. but it looks like he has got 4 wheel drive in gear all the time could that be i to...i dont think it needs to be in 4x4 when its just city driving lol.what do u think.

No it deff. doesn't. But if it is icy i would the bronco's do not have very good handling.

i would say that it is most likely stuck in 4X4 drive or it doesn't work in 2 wheel drive but i have heard a lot of good things about them except for the one time my dads old bosses bronco exploded in his garage, but no one got hurt. but dont let that scare you, it was a gas/ oil leak that caused it.

It's possible that the transfer might be damaged. He may be running in 4wd to pull with the front wheels if the rear is damaged. Drive it in 2H to be sure. Good luck.

Don't buy a vehicle that's not running right. If it could be fixed cheaply...............it would be.
