I'm wondering if I should get birth control... I am 16 and I get my period for 7-8 days, usually pretty heavy. I have horrible cramps and i get pimples when i'm pms-ing. ( i hear that birth control helps zits) I have had sex , not recently but plan to in the very near future...
what do i do? do i go to planned parenthood.. what happens there?
should i tell my mom?
how do i tell her/convince her to let me get it without telling her im gunna have sex??

You should tell your mother that you would like to go to the doctor and have an exam done to explain why your periods are so heavy and painful.
I'm sure that she's probably not as ignorant of the facts about you and sex as you'd like to think. However, I would (if I were a girl's mother) want the girl to be protected against pregnancy than be an uptight freak about BCP's.
Just remember that just because you're on the pill doesn't mean you can't get an STD. Always still use a condom.

Definitely have a talk with your mom. you don't want to take them if she doesn't know because you can get in a huge amount of trouble. If you have birth control and get off it that can affect you even more. So caution. When I got off I had acne and felt dizzy and had my peroid for a month. So talk with your mom. Don't mention sex unless she ask and tell her about how you feel about it. Every young girl should show her identity to her mom. I told mine and I was only 14. I made my mistake doing it but I told the truth after. Thats why you should speak to her. Someday you might regret it if you made the wrong choice. Don't get to worried about what I say. I am not threatening just saying.

If you want to regulate your periods, birth control would be the solution.
It also does infact help with acne.
You should talk to your mother, tell her your problems, and how bad your periods bother you, and how heavy they are.
You can go to a planned parenthood and they usually give birthcontrol at little or no cost.

if you want to tell your mom, tell her what you just told us- that you want to get it to have milder periods and better skin. you could also go to planned parenthood. i'd recommend making an appointment so they see you sooner. all they'll do is have you fill out some forms about your medical history and then they'll weigh you and take your blood pressure & probably have you take a pregnancy test because you're sexually active. most clinics will not make you have a pelvic exam because of your age. they may encourage you to talk to your parents, but they are very confidential and will not say anything to them unless you say they can. do whatever you are comfortable with.

Talk to your mom and be honest. She can probably take you to the gynecologist and the doctor can find the right birth control to fit your needs.
Birth control helps me so much with cramps and my period in general. I think it helps so much.

You need to be honest with your mom I'm sure she would much rather take you to get birth control then support another child if you were to get pregnant. Bottom line, if you plan to be sexually active GET ON BIRTH CONTROL!!

first off you should not be having sex let along unprotected sex the pill does not stop STD's and nothing is one hundred percent birthcontrol I have a few friends that got pregnant on the pill. If you are having problems talk to you Mom about your flow and ask her if you can have a physical you can talk to your doctor about this more please talk to a doctor and talk to your Mom she has had a period too
