i just did this type of homework a while ago...

Step 1:

y=mx+b right?

your equation is x=2y so that means, it's just the same as 2y=1x+0

Step 2: SOLVE FOR Y

Divide both the left and the right side by 2

you'll get

y=1/2 (it's a fraction) this is the answer

ur m is 1/2 and your b is 0

x=2y into slope intercept form

2y=x
divide each side by 2 and you get y=1/2x + 0

Slop intercept form is y=mx+b where:

m is the slope of the line
b is where it crosses the y axis.

so solve for y and you'll find it.

You just solve for y. In this case it is fairly easy: y=x/2 or y=.5x. That is it.
