Because things change.
Trust me on this one.
Just don't forget that you are the one who needs to make the changes. You can't wait for something else to do it for you.

Well, I have wondered this myself...The answer is simple. Life is not just something you get and lose someday. Life is permanent if you believe in the Creator, and you should treat life as though it is permanent. No matter who you are, how awful your life is, there is something good that is going to happen tomorrow. No matter how small it is or big it is, a good thing happening is all that matters. Think of people who are missing an arm or a leg and hate God. If even they live only for one kiss or one Christmas dinner, their life here is worth.
Love can grow cold, but don't let it freeze your life here. If even only you live for someone's touch each day, believe you are important. I had a finger amputated a couple of years ago, and it was just because it could not be relocated when it was out of place, and it caused a blood clot. I played guitar. I don't anymore. I hate the way my hand feels. I sometimes want to take a knife and just split the smile off my face, but that would be evil. I live for my nephew, my girlfriend, my family. I don't complain, and if I do, people understand and get upset. So, why upset people? There is no one who does not hurt. It is a large club of teary-eyed people. So, look up and stand alive. Don't throw your life away if you believe you have another to come.
You are not alone, but you will leave others lonely if you take your life. Don't do that to the people who still believe in the love you must learn to embrace.

Because you always have the ability to defy a sucky life and do some sucking of your own. Go out and make life regret that it sucks. It's only messing with you.
Should life win just because it sucks? And how would life win by sucking, if it ends up causing you to be dead? No. Life would then lose its chance to make things suck for you. But of course, then death could have its chance to show you how much THAT sucks. And last time I checked you can't come back once you check out.
So it's really a matter of odds. You may be able to figure out why life sucks and fix it, (if you're alive) with the fall back option of being dead. But if you're dead and that really sucks without any way to fix it, then you can't come back for a second try at life, can you? It's always best to maintain as many options as possible.
In all seriousness, make the best of what you have. You could find out that the alternative is much worse.

You seem young. Well hunny it's life. Cutting yourself, committing suicide, crying overly to much, won't help the fact that school is tomorrow and the same kids who bully you are gunna be there. If your an adult, well then that's life to. Life is a living hell. But it's those moments in life that make it all worthwhile. Those 2 years, one day, 3 weeks, one minutes , all those individual moments summed together that make us think before we die, how happy we truly are. You may think your life "sucks", but the reality is, so does every ones. Your not a kid in Africa right? Or a child who gets killed by their crazy parents, no i hope not since your alive and well[[u may not believe it]] and you are using a computer, which people in Africa don't have. Society is disgusting. I won't say that people will get nicer, because allot of them don't. People are gunna make fun of you, laugh, and spread **** about you, people are gunna make you feel like nothing, but that's how our little small world works. We pick on others to feel better. Why should YOU continue life? Because you have one life, i know "you have one life to live so live it to the best", but it's so true. Don;t waster your time thinking about how bad life "sucks", think about how grateful you are, and look around you sweetie and see all the good things. Got a park across the street? Then take a walk there. Got a neighbor who is stuck at home, go over and cher heer/him up and play a boards game. Do me a favor and place your hand over your heart, and feel your heart beat, that's your life ticking away. You could die in a minutes, or in a year, or maybe with the way scientist our discovering DNA you might die in 200 years. but the point is, life has it's ways of destroying us, and it's not gunna help you, it's gunna continue bringing up people who will laugh at you and hate you, but it's up to YOU to ignore how society is and Get to know the good people and get to do the good things.

I read the 11 so far answers. True empathy and compassion sure seems hard to come by for some folks. I believe you have the divine right to pass on into your new costume anytime. The only thing is our sole purpose for wearing our present costumes on our eternal selves, is to bring Love where Love seems not to be. The first place to do so, is to ourselves and then where ever we get a chance to outside of ourselves… never miss a chance to be kind before it is too late to do so. If you kill your body now… and you get to be to your true home, your God and you will choose a new body and life that might be even tougher than the one you have now… This comes from someone, who almost none others have had such a tough weird life… I am missing body parts, many and huge scars over my belly and chest, my sister was killed and buried on my 21st birthday, my ex tortured my kids, I never ever had a friend… my own six siblings were the first to ostracize me, I might be dying of dehydration soon (long story)… and so on. It is only in the last few years of my 61 years, have things come my way that make life so much really worthwhile… hang in there don’t give up five minutes before the miracle happens.

Because your life won't always suck. It will get better. Give it a chance. Yes life can be cruel, tragic, stressful, terrible some days. There are things beyond our control which can bring us down. But you have to pick yourself back up. It is still a beautiful world with so much to offer. Don't give up.
Cry if you need to cry, but know that tomorrow you may laugh. Don't lose hope. Look for the good things. Appreciate the little things. Don't take anything for granted.
I've been there. Trust me, you will be ok. You are not alone. We all get down sometimes. Life is rough. If it was easy we wouldn't appreciate it. You have to experience sorrow to know joy when you find it...You will find it.
Love yourself, love others, love the world. Life isn't all bad.

From a purely philosophical and psychological point of view, I would say that your perception of a shitty life is self induced. Your life sucks because you are making it suck, and more specifically, perceiving it to be sucking.
To translate that into plain english: Your life doesn't have to suck. It sucks because you have made it suck and are leaving it to suck. If you want to change your perception of your life and what you're doing with it...well, that's up to you.
You have to go out of your way to get help. Are you depressed? See a doctor. Identify aspects of your life that sucks and why they suck. From here, take action; make a plan to fullfill things that you feel suck and can be changed.

Because you have to realize that no matter what your current situation is - no matter how bad it may be - it is only temporary. Things may be BAD today, but there's always TOMORROW - and tomorrow your whole situation can change dramatically. So. give things some time - "sleep on it" - talk it over with someone - ANYONE - let other people help you - there's no shame in asking for help. Tomorrow is another day - BE THERE!

You've got to be kidding me. 1st read the Bible and attend bible study groups. You'll be amazed how things will turn around. 2nd when you think you have it bad. You don't have it half as bad as the rest of the world. Someone will always have it worst than you. So there in itself lye's the answer to live. In fact why don't you try to help those in need.

True story. Told to me in person when I was 18yrs by a Jewish lady.
A Jewish teenager was taken to a concentraion camp. All her female relatives, cousins, aunts, small sisters, grannies were sent to the gas chambers to die. That left just her, two older sisters and her mother. They worked.
Each day they had one bucket for 50 women in the hut to use as a toilet.
Each day they had one bucket, not washed, with hot water with potatoes in it for 50 women to eat, and one dry bread roll.
One night her before her mother died, the girls gave Mum their bread rolls, her sister was shot trying to steal some food for Mum.
Why did you go I asked her.
Because we do, it's part family, it's part hope, it's part wish to help, not ourselves but others worse off. But mostly the lady told me because - we just do.
Been at edge of suicide due ill health, etc..but I went on living because "we just do"
