It would be the 1700s; by the early 1800s the fashion had died out, except for the older generation.

They were made of horsehair, yak hair and human hair - the latter being more expensive. Samuel Pepys in the 17th century, had a periwig (the elaborate, curled one covering the shoulders) and was concerned about it possibly having come from plague victims. Sometimes they were made of fine wire.

One would take as much care of a wig as one would of one's own hair. It had to be curled and styled; many men would shave their heads and wear a cap at home, leaving the wig on a model head.

I don't take anything for granted ~ we are all here on this earth by the sheer grace of GOD, so my favorite part of the day is when I wake up and find out GOD is keeping me around for at least another morning. 4. I am caring and sensitive to other people's feelings. 5. Did I mention a terrific husband, great kids, grateful to GOD, sensitive and caring, and a GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR ??!!!
