Imagine someone falls in a very funny way but gets hurt, if you are there in person, you can't laugh, but if you are watching it on TV, it's fine to laugh, but imagine being told "I love you" on TV by the person you want to be with, it's better in person.
It depends.

Go to a comedy club -- you'll find out for yourself how much humor is lost in both video and audio recordings.
Kevin Nealon and Dana Gould are awesome, but don't go see Richard Lewis. What a bore -- the guy barely made me smile.

i like watching things on tv.. Because i'm a real slow person it takes me a while to get the joke.. YOU know HAHAHA. Either someone has to explain it for me or i gotta think it out a little-- and then laugh.
Plus my laugh is real loud and obnoxious. hahahaha.

In person dude. When you're with someone whose telling a joke, or does something funny it's just closer than a piece of lit up glass, and plastic.

Definitely in person.
You can get the enthusiasm (sp) of the joke or person better when you're face to face with them.

I think you need to see them... as far as in person or tv, it doesn't matter.
