There already is... lots of world peace... a peace here a peace there....

whether everyone will be at peace with everyone is unlikely...

There are just too many different cultures, peoples, nations and above all too many people who think they are correct...

No.

Sorry, I'm a realist!

We can choose to be peaceful & strive to make the world a better place but there will always be those driven by hatred, greed & a lust for power. From the beginning of time men have been fighting each other for resources (land, food, money, etc). I don't see this ever stopping to be honest with you...

Maybe.

You would require a system wide, unbreakable government though.

Essentially it comes down to this; the more you make people the same, the closer you will get to peace. The more you make them different the less peace you have. Countries and divisions in society in themselves make it impossible for there to be peace. Until you put everyone on equal ground, you won't have it.

And putting everyone on equal ground is nearly impossible. I think you would have to somehow alter the human brain, probably artificially.

Tacitus said of the Roman legions that"they create a desert and call it peace".When homo sapiens has eventually succeded in doing just that with the entire planet then there will be world peace.

No is the short answer. It seems to run against human nature to be that way. Because man is "an ever-wanting animal", people will always want what they cannot have and are prone to resort to violence to get it, assuming they want it bad enough. Whether it be money, power, land, revenge or dominance over other groups of people, there will always be those extreme enough to fight for what they want.

We also have thousands of years of history to cope with. This has yielded long-running emnities between different religions, ideologies, tribes and nations. Getting past those will be the highest hurdle to leap.

I think we can say with absolute confidence that there will come a point at which there is no longer any armed conflict between human beings anywhere on Earth. Of course, the latest point at which this will happen is the point at which the planet becomes uninhabitable.

That's a real nice fantasy to think about, but I really don't think so. People on this earth have been killing each other since the caveman days, always finding newer and better ways - more efficient ways - of doing it! The strong prey on the weak and so it goes, on and on - you would THINK that mankind would eventually learn. It's a nice thought to keep in mind, though. We can always "keep hope alive" that SOMEDAY, MAYBE ... Like John Lennon said, "Imagine."

No. Being peaceful is not consistent with human nature.
