some teen spat at me for no reason,
so i spanked him one, and his friend.
did i do wrong?
or do these kids need sortin out?

its because we are pissed off because all our parents get divorces and make decisions that alter our lives based on their own selves. those guys over did it though... I will give you that.

and yes today most people my age are ungrateful bastards, but in the end its really their parents fault for not punishing them for doing stupid stuff.

No you most certainly did not do wrong - Kids/teenagers are definately getting worse - its because the do gooders have taken one hell of a lot of our rights away as parents - how can you sit down and tell any child from the age of about 12 to 20 that they are a bad boy/girl - if you ask me a good slap now and again would work wonders but if we do that (to under 16's anyway) they are right on the phone to social services or the police crying abuse

if we were allowed to discipline our children in our own way (without going to the extreme or using anything other than a hand of course) then maybe we wouldnt have creatures like that roaming about doing what they like to who ever they like when ever they like

take back the belt in school, the local bobby giving them a clip round the ear and give us parents back our rights too

I'm 20 in a few months and I cannot believe the way teenagers act.
I blame the parents, society, media and the teenagers themselves.

Parents need to discipline their children and teach them right from wrong, society has to have a no tolerance for misbehavious, for media I'm not even going to say anything because I could go on for hours, and the teens do not take responsibility for their actions, they're honestly stupid. They think the own the world.

I'm not one bit surprised a teen spat at you. They have NO respect for anyone.

Also while on the topic of teens. Is anyone else sick of seeing teenagers pregnant and pushing baby strollers? I sure as hell am.

They are showing less respect to their society, parents, teachers and almost no interest in education. Many are enjoying free time away their homes and growing with sex, money, drugs and guns culture sometimes powered by the media.
This does not apply to everybody! There are some nice children out there.

Parents need to get more involved in their lives, building up a good level of communication in order to understand their needs.
Many of them do not get listened to. Some parents are often around but cannot be bothered, or they work too hard and do not spent quality time with children.

Smacking may not be the solution for everyboby. One powerful thing that usually works is God's fear. Get them to learn the bible as early as possible. They will learn about true love, respect, honouring parents, trusting parents, communication, the importance of education.... at an early stage.

And those who will face the difficult times as they grow, will come to you.
I have a 14 years old!

We weren't this bad. I feel if parents had gotten a little more "active" with those kids when they were younger, rather then saying "what am I gonna do with him/her?", these kids would have turned out ok.


P.S. I'd like to smack "Tetris Panther" for that answer. The other teens are just defending themselves and saying there are better teens too , but this person deserves it

Okay if they were 18 or 19...then they were adults...yes they are still teenagers, but you spanked an adult. If some 18 or 19 year old spit at me I would kick their ***, not spank them. If you spit at/on someone you're asking for a fight!

No, they arn't getting worse, they have too much free time away from their parents because most moms & dads work and do not try to spend anymore time with them than they have to. They seem to put too many burdens on the teachers and if the teachers try to correct them they get so much flack from the parents. I think we have a lot of fine young boys and girls that are really trying to make something out of themselves if their parents would work with them more.
