Well to start out there are 12 major Keys and 12 Minor Keys.

A A# B C C# D D# E F G G#

The sharp keys are the same as flats:

A Bb C Db E F Gb A Bb

A key is a group of notes that sound good together, they all follow the basic formula, but you don't need to know chord formulas to figure out what chords will sound good together all you really need is to know tab.

I would start by learning some of the more popular keys First .

For example you can find the key of C here
http://www.howtotuneaguitar.org/chord-finder-major/key-of-c.html

or the key of G

http://www.howtotuneaguitar.org/chord-finder-major/key-of-g.html

Or any guitar chord for that matter:

Check those out, see if it helps.

It all depends on what key you want to play in. I like the key of G, and my favorite chords in the key of G are: Gsus, C2, Em7, D, Dsus. but do your own thing man, find what chords YOU like.

You've got the WORST taste in music and would have the WORST taste in entertainment if you liked talentless reality shows! Listen to good music like ICP!
