the majority of my family is aleric to cats or dogs so i need to find a different type of pet thats still not stupid or boring

if you want a pet that will keep you laughing with it's antics...get a ferret. In the United States, ferrets are descent ed and neutered or spayed before they are sold. Contrary to what you've heard, ferrets do not stink.
I have two and they are such clowns.
If you do decide on a ferret.....before you buy one do alot of research. Ferrets need lots of attention, especially if you have one alone. Ferrets can also be litter trained, my two are and you have to be able to provide the right diet for one. Alot of people will tell you to give them dry cat food. Personally, the local feed store special orders it for me and I think it is better for them in terms of getting the right vitamins and minerals.
What ever you do get, make sure you can provide the proper care for it.

Try a hairless dog or cat...they are probally alergic to the hair so that might be good. They are not to cute though...o well
I think if they are allergic to a dog and cat any animal with hair would be a bad idea.

Some ideas:
We used to have a parakeet. They are fun and interactive.
Rats: We have them at out school, they are a lot of fun
A miniature pony: If you have the facilities, these are the best pets to get. Make sure you know how to care for them.

you can try birds, if you dont mind vacuuming around the cage every day. I myself just put up 2 feeders outside and enjoy watching the wild ones!

Goldfish (and I'm talkin' the gigantic ones that are at some Chinese restaurants!)

get a couple of rats. they need to be kept in same sex pairs since they are social animals but they are very smart. they need to be constantly entertained.

long hair guinea pigs and rabbits make wonderful pets they love to cuddle.

I would say a fish they cant cause trouble...but if you get one feed it right.Also there is a hamster.
