You dont need a business license; however, you may WANT one. They only run around $25 and will allow you to start a legitimate business which would then give you the ability to take tax deductions for your business costs and I assure you those deductions will return way more than the $25 cost. A sales tax ID is also a good thing to have especially if you intend to buy items for resale. That Tax ID number will qualify you for wholesale costs on items from legitimate vendors. You would have to pay taxes (only in your state) for sales but don't have to pay taxes when using your tax id for buying. Your business will allow you credits for your home business including rent and utilities, packaging supplies, ebay fees, postage, business cards and whatever expenses you incur while trying to make a profit including professional services like an attorney and/or accountant that can help with your business startup. You can make a few thousand bucks just in tax savings for that $25 vendor license so I would advise you to look into it.

Nope, no license required.
All is needed is a bank account and follow eBay rules.
Have fun!

No, you don't need a liscence to sale on ebay. You just have to buy atleast seven things before you can sale anything, and that sucks.
