Depending upon how old your computer is, the best thing is to replace the computer.
If you just want a bit more power, the easiest thing is the memory.
If you want to play games, update the video card.
If you want to crunch some real data, update the processor and memory.
IF you really get to this last part, many of the new processors and memory do not fit the existing computers, without a new motherboard.
Just buy a new computer.

Well, you can upgrade whatever you want to, but it all depends on how old, what mobo you have and what your willing to spend. My suggestion is the processor and ram. It's really best to do these together if you have an older system. When you upgrade though it has been through my expoerience to upgrade the graphics card too if you are a gamer...these three things can make a world of difference even in an old PC.
If I had to stick to one upgrade, I would always go with more ram if you are looking for the most inexpensive and easiest upgrade that will afffect the performance of your PC, however real performance gains will come from the aforementioned upgrades...Good Luck!

Memory or your Processor. I dont recomend that you update your computer. You will be spending too much money on something that will be super old very soon.

Save up and buy a new one. You can probably get a brand new computer for about 400 - 600 with current modern hardware.

It its an old computer, it would be best just to buy a new one. They are so much cheaper these days than in the past. You could add more ram, and a new hard drive but by the time to do all that, just buy a new computer.
