Is there a specific name for the pantyhose with the line in the back of the leg? I really want some but dont know what to ask for in a store or online. They were worn a lot in the earlier decades but are so classic and chic. They are regular pantyhose only with a solid line going all the way down on the back of the leg.

Seamed. Vintage stockings where made that way, and eventually made with a single thread which no longer nessesitaed the backseam. goto http://www.stockingshowcase.com/
And you will find both the seamed and non seamed, in vintage and modern. There were different heels, cuban and french. Cuban had a stirght cut off, and french came to a point. There are pantyhose that were made to "look" like stockings also. That perticular web site also has a quick history lesson on it. Good Luck.

The lines are called seams, and you are looking for seamed pantyhose. They also make many more selections in stockings with seams. If there is a little heel detail at the back of the foot they are called Cuban heel . Check out stockingstore.com for the largest selection I have ever seen.
They also make them in thigh highs.

The line down the leg is a seam. Ask for seamed pantyhose, or better yet Cuban heel, which are sheer and nude, but have seams and black reinforced nylon around the heel and toe. These are very sexy !

Ask for seamed pantyhose. And you can always draw a picture to bring in of what you are asking. I always do. Because I usually find that people are better at answering a question when they can visually see what you are talking about. Good luck!

I do not know the name. But lingerie shops do sell these panyhose.Marilyn Monroe used to wear them they are pretty.
I was told now they have pantyhose with tattoos on the ankles of the pantyhose.
