It is a tough job but somebody has to do it. The same reason you bash Clinton, who probably was the best president in modern time at the job of running the country. I bet this won't be best answer but it is the truth. More then I can say for the rest of your claims, Stock market is high because the Dow was changed not to long ago, which they do every so often, they replace the under performers with stocks that are doing well. Unemployment is a deceiving number as all they count as unemployed are the people that are actually drawing benefits. Many have given up looking for a job, and in this area unemployment is rather high. Home ownership has tripled think again, look up the statistic for mortgage defaults and repossessions you will be amazed. Taxes are low for the very rich but all the middle class got is an average of $20 that is public knowledge also. Not to mention the largest deficit and debt in the history of the U.S.

I am not and never have been a fan of Clinton. Yes, he dodged the draft, but he didn't go to Canada. If you will recall, Cheney got several deferments. He said he had better things to do. Bush used family connections to join an elite National Guard unit and then didn't serve. So who's a coward? All three in my opinion.

LOL at some of these answers. They feel the need to "explain away" the good things you mentioned so they could not possibly be because anything the president has done. They state it as fact. What a joke....especially the part about Clinton being the best president in modern times. How many times did American interests get attacked overseas and on our soil while Clinton was in office? What did he do about it? Maybe if he would have been taken care of business (instead of getting bj's) we would never have had 9/11 and Bush would not have been stuck cleaning up his mess. The good economy and budget surplus came from the republican congress NOT Clinton. Bush has had to deal with more problems that any President since WWII, he has done one hell of a job. One thing is for sure he rules the way he sees fit, not by which way the wind is blowing.

But the confidence of the citizens of this country is low, and that is what makes the approval rating go round.

Why bash him? Lies, shady happenings, following own agenda instead of listening to advisors and voters, . . . So many more negatives that have totally overshadowed the positives. Taxes are low, but the debt is skyrocketing, which is a direct reflection of that. I can't put less money into my checking account and then write the same amount of checks I did with more money. . . Same thing. This war is putting this country further into debt, and it is now something that we are doing more harm than good over there.

Clinton tried to warn the incoming administration. But like all of the other advice he was given, Bush chose to ignore it. In hindsight, I think a lot of things should have been done, but they weren't. Now we live with it, under a guy that made matters worse, not better.

How has your personal quality of life improved?

And you made no mention of the surplus turned deficit. A responsible leader would have asked the country to pay more in taxes so the troops could be safe. Not your Yahoo.

He wants to cut more taxes, stretch the military even further.

True, some indicators say the economy is doing all right...but if you look closely, who is making the money? It is the top 5%...the rest of us are drifting further and further into the rear view mirror as Bush looks out for the rich, screws the middle class, and buries the poor.

And how in debt are you? When will the nation be able to pay it back if interest rates go up over 16% as they will? Clinton studied in England he didn't run away to Canada and was kinda more successful than being shot for nothing.
You can't have those oil fields; Bush senior got control of the Middle East by withdrawing before being required to take over, puppet leaders there were chastened and compliant giving cheap oil for the booming 90's but you can't subjugate even primitive countries unless the majority of people there really want you to (and they don't). So start working on new fuel technologies and stop the 3rd world being supplied w. high atomic technology and weapons. The gov. stats you refer to are bogus, they are always getting richer, so of course they 'prove' w. stats that things are great all round.

Clilnton did not run to Canada. If you're going to post something at least don't lie. Bush wouldn't go to Vietnam either. He was supposed to be stationed at Red Stone Arsenal in Alabama and the Post Commander doesn't even recall ever seeing him there.
