Nash doesnt play defense, and the Suns system is largely the reason for the teams success.

Dont get me wrong Nash deserved 1 of the MVPs, but Jason Kidd, and John Stockton have run the offense just as well as this guy has before and they also played defense.

Whats so great or different about Nash?

Does anyone think it has to do with the way he handles himself of the court?

Nash plays exactly NO DEFENSE. he just lets his teammates do the defense and pass and lets his teammates finish the work.

KB should deserve MVP, look at how he played against boston.

Nash on the other doenst do anything, just pass and get assists.~

the reason kobe doesn't have as many mvps as nash is because nash sets up his team and distributes the ball well to incorporate his teammates and averages almost 12 assists. he involves his teammates, so then they score more points and win more games. kobe averages 5 assists, does not incorporate his team, and so they lose. without kobe at the begining of the season the lakers were 3-0. now they lost 6 of 7. steve nash is the phoenix suns.

kobe is a great scorer, but not a team guy like nash.

The award is called Most Valuable Player, meaning who means the most to their team. Without Nash the Suns are average at best while the Lakers have actually in the past played well without Kobe. Plus while it's true Steve Nash plays no defense how he plays on the offensive end makes up for it.

Because the NBA doesn't want to give the award and have there be controversy over it. Kobe is one of the best players in the game, but since so many people hate him many people would be upset. Nash is more of a team player so the NBA picks him so they don't get a bad image

the posters that dont get it are in denial...it is all too clear that he is the engine that makes the team go...do you see how well the Suns offense is run when he is out, absolutely horrible...they take all day to get into sets (usually using all of the shot clock in half court sets vs. 9secs max into the 24 clock) have horrible spacing...average 10 less points and 5 assists a game when hes out...Nash makes the entire team better and run more efficiently...and just so you know, I'm a basketball fan and not a Nash fan...now look at the list of guys you mentioned... they are instrumental in their teams winning but do they make their teammates better?

Don't even say Kobe Bryant is a Ball hog, this year he has gotten all of his teamates involved and has become the facilitator of the team. The lakers have done so much better and Kobe is still #3 in the race for the MVP. THATS NOT RIGHT! KOBE MVP!!!

I think if the Lakers played well and Kobe didn't ball hog all game long and got some assists he would win an MVP award. But since he doesn't he won't win one. Nash wins his because he helps his team out the most. In his two MVP years he averaged 18.9 ppg, 4.2 rpg, and 10.5 assist p/game in 2005-2006 and 15.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, and 11.5 assist p/game in 2004 - 2005. That is how to help out your team.

It's not MVBH (Most Valuable Ball Hog). Nowitzki is the only one you listed that has an argument. In the past 2 years Steve Nash has been more valuable than any other player to his respective team...hence the name of the award.

it is going to be Nash because of the fact he's had to their effective run. till now he went returned to the Suns they have been trash. paying for Nash and making him their chief, working the offense to healthful his skills, helped the different acquisitions like Bell and Diaw enhance their video games. besides the Suns are enjoying the favourite precise now. this is not any longer continuously the guy on the perfect team that gets MVP (why i do no longer think Dirk gets MVP trophy; See Detroit Pistons 2006). Like somebody mentioned above the MVP is going to the guy who in the event that they have been injured or no longer able to play the team could be trash without.

The real reason is because white people are getting ancy because the last white person to lead a team to a ring was Larry Bird 20 years ago so they are trying to get behind Nash.
