Those two are replacements for Team Kakashi. Yamato is a jonin and replaces Kakashi who is recovering in the Hospital. Sai replaces Sasuke, since after all, he left. According to Tsunade, she must send a four man team and so that line-up is born...

the one who kind of looks like sasuke is sai, he is a anbu and sai isn't his real name. the other is yamato who is to replace kakashi while he recovers in the hospital. yamato has the power of the first hokage and can supress the kyubi in naruto. they were both sent with sakura and naruto to retrieve sasuke once again. i'm sure you will find out soon.

i'll explain in better terms wat happened is in the show gaara gets caught and naruto and the gang have to save himduring this whole process kakashi get hurt and has to be hosptitalized but that not the point during all this fighting they kill one of the akatsuki members called sasorri( i think that how u spell it ) any ways they get info that sassori had a subordinate who is kabuto and was going to meet up with him on the bridge. well naruto and sasuke's replacement this kid named sai who has the powers to bring to life watever he draws... he is really on this secret mission to kill sasuke . and the replacement for kakashi is this jonin that has the powers of the first who controls plants.... but any ways they get to the bridge and the dress up like sasorri and meet kabuto but it was a trap because kabuto is on oros side now and trys to kill sasorri and it was a huge battle with naruto in his kyubbi form with four tails whicj was soo cool but anyways sai runs of with oro and naruto and rest track sai to oros place to find sai and sasuke but sai wants to no why naruto cares so mush for a traitor like sasuke soo he decides not to kill him and sai finds him first and thers is a big explosion. and that is wat u see in the begining and naruto and sakura make it there to find sasuke and sasuke supresses narutos kyubbi chakra but then there was this quick fight and sasuke wips all naruto teams *** and gets away hope that helped
