Gaskets , they can be made of many different materials from cork to silicon (ready formed or to make in place) some materials work better for different applications . like silicon doesn't do well with gasoline
In certian cases metal is used with good success as in piston rings, they seal all of your listed .

Most of the time it is a paper or synthetic rubber gasket.
