That used to happen to me. I would wake up and the room was spinning...Too much caffiene. not enough water. dring at least 32 ounces between 6 an bedtime and lay off the caffiene it may be due to high blood pressure that is what they thought mine was at first. It turned out I was drinking a lot of Iced tea too much caffiene not enought plain water. I was also tested for an inner ear disorder.causing off balalce

How is his blood pressure ? It sounds like it's positional. In other words, his blood presure changes depending on his position. Sitting up, standing and laying down all can have an effect on a person's blood pressure. I would get it checked. Make sure they take his pressure in those positions. He may need medication to raise it. Good luck to you.

Maybe he has an inner ear disturbance such as vertigo? It will cause dizziness no matter what.

So he is dizzy all the time then.

Vertigo and you can check your BP at any drugstore. Do it.
