I am looking for a free FTP service that I can use for transferring graphics files to China. What is the best with no spyware etc.

There are several. But the best for no spuware and such are Filezilla and SmartFTP. SmartFTP has also been ported to XP Pro x64. If you have that OS, SmartFTP has a version in 64 bit. I use it and am highly satified with it.
