What's the difference between Goth and emo?

I'm neither but I like Goth.

PS: Tell me the difference.
I really want to know.

For one, the goth subculture has been around much longer than emo, since the late 70s. You'll find goths in their 40s and 50s, whereas most emos are teenagers or young adults. The goth scene originally started out as a more dark, glamorous, and intellectual, less aggressive and political version of punk. Emo emerged out of the indie rock scene in the mid-Nineties.

The gothic subculture emphasizes everything that's dark, dramatic, and unusual. Emo basically just emphasizes emotions and sensitivity. Generally, goths wear dark clothing, often with a vaguely punkish look, with pale, dramatic-looking make-up. Emo fashion is defined by tight jeans and T-shirts, thick, black-rimmed glasses, and long bangs brushed to one side of the face.

Goths may listen to anything from gothic rock, death rock, industrial music, experimental music, electronica and punk rock. Bauhaus, The Cruxshadows, Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, etc are popular gothic bands. Modern-day emos typically listen to groups like Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, My Chemical Romance, Funeral For A Friend, etc. The only real similarities between goth and emo are that both emphasize mood and emotion, and members of both often dye their hair black.

Mmm ok nicely to me somebody who attire goth positioned on extra darker issues like the makeup lipstick nails the hair and the cloths could be issues like trench coats in simple terms wearing all black loads of the goth young little ones in my severe college gown that way so thats how i assume goth gown the emo sort to me is like loopy colorings and a definite form of hair cut back skinny denims communicate or trucks any form of shirts females positioned on the dark loopy makeup the boys in simple terms have the hair and cloths its fairly hassle-free to tell the version nicely for me this is :p i'm hoping I kinda responded that lol

Gothic well you might get labled as a freak but i don't care your cool if your goth or emo. but emo you seem to hate your self?

goth tends to be dark, mean-looking.... gothic is a style that has been used all throughout the history of civilization, being used in things like buildings...

emo is a name givien to a new variation of rock music not even 10 years ago. the fanbase is mostly young kids.
