My parents are Chinese, and they consider shaving leg shaving unnatural. I don't know about underarms, but they both dont shave there. I'm 13 and I want to start shaving, but im embarassed about asking, because my mom will probably think its a little weird. what should i do?

I'm Chinese too and at first my mom wasn't so keen on letting me shave either. I used to sneak my dad's razor (there really isn't that much difference between the men and women's) but my mom finally just accepted it. I think underarm shaving is necessary but you might want to hold off on leg shaving. My mom has no leg hair at all and that is because she never started. The same thing with my sister.

Well chica, I think that u should talk to ur mom about how u feel about this situation. She might not shave, but this is a new day and age females shave almost everything!

tell them in middle school you need to shave your underarms & leggs. if you don't the other kids will make fun of you. good luck.

Most girls shave their underams, but only some girls shave their legs. I think you should shave your underarms and see if your mom notices and what she thinks of it.
