What is merely an idea today, when acted upon, will be an actuality in the future.

The only reality is now, in the present moment. The future and past are both concepts that exist only in the mind. You can't point to the future and say "there it is" you can only think about it and the past is just a bunch of memories. What you did in the past affects the present and what you do in the present will affect the future.
