If you want to be a designer, then you don't need math and physics at all. The math and physics would only help if you want to be a programmer. If you want to be a designer, then you need to be good at playing games, play a lot of games, and be able to know why good games sell. Check the sales of the top selling games. Also know all they parts that go into making a game because you will have to coordinate with all parts of the team. Sound, artists, programmers, management, etc.

"gaming" usually means betting. I think you just mean "game industry" (computer games, right?).

I've been in it for years, and actually math and physics aren't that critical. There are times that they are important, but often there's someone who's really into math on your team that can take care of that portion of it.

What's more important is logic, and thinking clearly, and attention to detail. If you can write code cleanly, not be convoluted, and can adapt and solve problems, that's worth a lot more than just being good in math.

If you truly mean gaming, though - betting - then statistics might be of help.
