Instead of asking who is the richest can I ask who do you think is the poorest in this country?

The poorest people are unfortunate homeless people whose name we do not /will never know. The richest people, on the other hand, include the owners of the companies that own all the brands we know from the shops & the adverts, so we may know some of their names.

Probably there is someone out there who is flat broke and in addition has lost some massive multi-million dollar lawsuit, and so carries that as a huge debt he can't pay off.

So yeah, whoever is the worst case in that scenario, with a net worth of minus $50 million (say), that is probably the poorest man on earth.

Everyone at Zero is equal. Unless you mean who is the most massively in debt. That would probably be someone who was once the richest, who else could fall so far?
In terms of spiritual wealth; comparisons are odious and misleading.

There is an underclass who are so poor that the safety net of the benefits system cannot catch.Very liitle is heard of them and very little is done for them.

Well lots of people will have zero wealth (no assets, no ready cash, etc). But are people with huge debts even poorer as they have negative wealth?
