my girlfriend has a ghetto phone,and i just got a nice one. i wanna give her my old slider phone, but i'm with cingular, she is with t mobile... how can i unlock my old phone (samsung sgh-d807) and hook her up?
please help!

Fact - All cell phones can be unlocked. Phones in US are locked because of service contracts.
Your Options:
1. Try to get the service provider to give you the unlock code by telling him you're traveling to a place in the world where they don't offer service.
2. The above is an old trick and might not work. Go to ebay and spend about $10-$15 dollars. They will ask you your IMIE number - usually located under the battery.
3. Go to a one of those cell phone stands in a mall and ask around. You will find someone. And of course you can get anything done in China town !!

u should call cingular customer service and tell them u wanna unlock the phone and they should give u a code so u can unlock the phone and then u can hook ur girl up

try talking to cingular about it or getting a code online somewhere to type in to unlock it

I'm not sure that is possible. I might be wrong though. It might be a lot of money, and also i think its something weird that the phone company's do so that they make you buy from them. If you find out that you can do that switch networks, please tell me!

type in any button and then type in the security code...which is the last 4 digets of your cell phone #...unless u caanged it ((thants for a flip phone)) for a non-flip phone press any button then press the pound button...and if that dosent work then look in the manual that came with and it should tell you their

You have to go to the store and pay to get it unlocked. If u live in N.Y. you could go to main street and get it unlocked for $12...

I dont think it can be done. It has to be done when it is produced.
This is how all the phone makers can sell the same model to diffent companies and make lots of money!

had the same prob with a nokia. i suggest checking out a forum http://www.howardforums.com/ if u cant find it there then it doesnt exist. last resort ask a customer service rep.
