The movie is pretty true to the book, despite the trailers. The ending is a shock, but that is what happens in the book.

Katherine Paterson's son David wrote the screenplay, and she approved of the movie, so I am not surprised that it is good. I wish all books turned movies were done with that respect and care.

My son saw it on Friday. He said he didn't expect the ending either. He thought the story line in the movie would be closer to the book than it was too. There were alot of things that were different. He also said the graphics were very well done.

I saw the movie and thought the ending was pretty shallow. Why not open it up more and show what type of land and people that they were going to live with. Maybe that's the next movie? It was sad but I liked it. It is worth the admission.

I have read the book numerous times, so the ending was not a surprise to me. I think David Patterson did a marvelous job of transforming his mother's book into a screenplay. I give it two thumbs way up!!

sure, I observed it precise after it got here out. i did no longer opt for to work out it.... I in basic terms went for 2 reaons.... #a million. My boyfriend examine the e book while he became into in school and needed to work out the action picture w/ me. #2. i became into fairly hoping because of the fact it became right into a Disney action picture that the trailer for "Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds end" could be on the beginning up (it wasn't btw) i assume it became into unhappy, yet i did no longer cry-cry, I in basic terms teared up. I frequently cry in the time of movies. It wasn't very stable... wasn't nicely well worth the notwithstanding it became into to work out it. in case you easily need to work out it however, you may desire to attend till it comes out on DVD and in simple terms lease it so which you will no longer waste as plenty funds. It became into fairly "little-kidish" and that i felt fairly dumb in the theater. Oh nicely yet it wasn't undesirable, in simple terms no longer my form of action picture. Now, Pirates of the Caribbean, on the different hand is an AWEOMSE action picture and that i could reccommend it ANY DAY! yo ho yo ho a pirates existence for me ;o)
