Maybe, since New Jersey was most likely the only "respectable" team in the Atlantic in most people's thoughts before the season. They'll definitely be underdogs in the playoffs, since most potential 1st round matchups (Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, Washington, Miami...) will more than likely result in quick elimination of the Raptors.

Underdog in what terms?
In terms of winning a championship? Yes.
In terms of advancing more than 1 round? Yes.
But the east is so weak, and they have a great young player in Bosh, that making the playoffs, I dont consider them underdogs. Although I did expect the Nets to win the division.
Chris Bosh is a great young player, but hes not a superstar. Hes a star in the making. It will be very tough for him to become a superstar playing in Toronto.
So I guess you can consider the Raptors underdogs simply because they play in Toronto, where its tough for them to get noticed like other teams.

They are for the simple fact that they're in the Atlantic Division. Plus except for Chris Bosh they don't have any other real stand outs on the team. That however are what makes them good, they're a good team without having a flashy player that has to carry them. They're a complete team.

Yeah of course they were one of the worst teams in the league last year and now they are 1st place in the Atlantic division. Barnangi and Garabosja really stepped up this year and Bosh became a bonified superstar. I'll be rooting for them until they come up against my Pistons.
