In no particular order:

1. Shawshank Redemption -- Satisfies one's sense of justice, at least as far as movies go.

2. Wizard of Oz -- A wonderful score, great sense of humor, and the incredible special effects of 1939 will be forever impressive.

3. Indiana Jones and Last Crusade -- "Nazis. I hate these guys."

4. Twister -- It was the first movie released on DVD, and for good reason: one of the best special effects disaster movies around.

5. Facing the Giants -- A remarkable film made by church members in Georgia, USA. Beware - it's a Christian flick!

6. The Dish -- This light-hearted Australian film captures the mood and wonder of the planet during the Apollo space program.

7. The Big Heat -- One of the essential film noirs, it's easy to follow, too.

8. Groundhog Day -- Bill Murray was never funnier and more thought-provocative. If you let it, this movie will help make your own life better.

9. The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) -- Good old-fashioned story and good acting.

10. Dante's Peak -- Not so much a movie as a film version of a theme park thrill ride, and about as believable. But what a ride!

1. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (The acting, the story line, the directing, the visual effects, and the sound mixing/editing is amazing!)

2. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl (The acting, the story line, and the directing is great)

3. Blood Diamond (Leonardo DiCaprio did fantastic in this film! The story line was depressing, but great!)

4. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (I am a huge fan of the books, when Peter Jackson made them into movies I was estastic! The visual effects were unbelievable in all 3 movies, but the Return of the King's visual effects have got to be the best!)

5. What's Eating Gilbert Grape (Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio shine in this film. It's a heart warming story.)

The 10 Commandments with Charleston Heston, anything with Mel Gibson, Brad Pitt, John Travolta, or Russell Crowe will do. None of them seem capable of doing a sub-par film. Top 10 films (not in order):

Aliens (better than the prequil - better than the book - Weaver at her best)

Top Gun (MI1 was just as good, but not better)
Lethal Weapon (Mel's best)
Die Hard (Bruce, stop here. It won't get any better.)
The Lord of the Rings (1 and 3) (number 1 and 2 - what can I say)
Highlander (1 and 4) (The premise is worth the movie)
Gladiator (number 3)
Braveheart
Unforgiven (an unforgettable western)
Armageddon

Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind
Candy
The Virgin Suicides
Donnie Darko
American Beauty
I Heart Huckabees
Somersault
Adrian Lyne's Lolita

I love all of the above movies for originality, complex and well acted characters, compelling storylines, mood, sensory qualities, excelent dialogue, inspired direction, clever soundtracks, and dare I say it, beautiful art direction and cinematography.
