just kinda curious about that

umm i just want to throw this out in the open so i wont get answers like this anymore:

first, snails are THE only animal on the earth that make the shells that hermit crabs use. Also, hermit crabs GROW, so they start out SMALL and get BIGGER. with me?

second, a hermit crab will not break a snail shell unless by accident, because it wants the shell, so it's not going to destroy it first! would you buy a house that had just been blown up by a bomb? i wouldn't.

third, "that's a good question" is an incorrect answer to my question, so don't say it.

I don't think that they will. I've always heard that hermit crabs only take over unihabited, empty shells.

OH my gosh I have a hermit Crab and have tried that before. They won`t do that because a snails shell is small and soft. And hermit crabs needs space and the shell has to be strong for protaction.Because if they come out of there shell and do not have a new one thay will die.So no they won`t do that. There soft and need a strong shell.

No. Because snail shells are too small for hermit crabs. We've raised ten hermit crabs in our past.
