I have noticed over the last few months this phenomenon. I have an Internet Explorer Browser open and try to open a new new link (either in new tab or new browser). Instead, the new browser/tab tries to open briefly, but instead both the old and new browers close. The browsers closing does not occur all the time, but rather repeatedly for select links.

Some suggestions I have tried but does not work:
1. Under Internet Options, unchecking box for "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts".
2. Uninstalling Yahoo Toolbar. I do not have it installed.

I have Google Toolbar installed. Has any seen this same phenonomena occuring because of Google Toolbar?

A link I have this issue with in included below:

From this page, I try to open the link for the "disaster kit brochures" at the bottom of the page.

I don't have an answer, but wanted to let you know I have the same problem. If I have about three tabs open and try to open another, it's about a 90% chance it will close. And it doesn't have to be three to four tabs, it just closes randomly.

I don't have Google
I have Win XP, IE7, and Yahoo Toolbar.

I've also noticed this problem after installing IE7, so I installed Firefox.... same thing happens, just not as often, but often enough that it didn't solve the problem.

Just thought this info might help someone else answering your question also.

Edit: I found this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926449 I'm going to try some of the methods later today. - I think it has something to do with the add-ons - I'm running it with add-ons disabled and not having a problem, so when I went to Tools - Manage Add-Ons, I'm going to disable some of the add-ons I know I don't need/use and hopefully that will do it. I'll be back to let you know.

2nd Edit - Hey that solved my problem!!!! :-)

the suggestion of "hit Ctrl N" replace into good. certainly, that is going as much as the report menu once you're in IE and choose "NEW". flow your cursor over the arrow on the splendid of that field and choose window. yet another IE field pops up precisely comparable to your first field. you are able to then pass from there to besides the fact that internet internet site you prefer. the 1st IE internet site will stay the place it is at.
