HOw do i correct this everytime i try to type somthing in the middle of a sentence it erases the letters after

You have the overtype key on. It's the key just above the delete key and to the right of the backspace key on the right side of the keyboard. It says Insert. Press it to turn the overtype or insert off.

Simply press the Insert button on your keyboard once. It is found above the delete button. Now the text type will not be erased .
