Working on oil rigs usually requires no prior experience, just a good job history. I worked in the oilfield for 10 years. Most companies do require you to pass a physical, so you have to be in pretty good shape. You must also pass a drug test. Most of the companies have websites you can apply through. Try Rowan Drilling, Key Energy, Greywolf Drilling, H&P, Ensco Drilling, or lots of others. Hopes this helps. The work is hard, but the pay is usually good and you get some time off for yourself.

There are oil rigs in the North sea/ find the employer in ireland (from what I remember) You can contact the oil rig 'office' in Aberdeen and ask them how to go about things. They might not know, however they might know a man who does.

Good luck

I'm sure you'll be fine as long as long as you don't mind working away for months at a time, and enjoy hard manual graft. Ask in your local job centre for advice. Good luck.

Read all the oil cans you can find. Spend some time in the oil aisle at Wal-Mart. Don't be afraid to ask a manger for assistance.
