History wise, Is at the bottom of our town's streets........All the president's and their wives names are on our side of Kingman (the town I live in), and then we have a neighborhood we all call "Bird Land", because all of the streets names are after bird types! Pretty cool town, we live in...The bird streets are Bluebird, Lark, Swan, Raven, Dove.. And the like, and our streets over by us, are Karen, Margeret, Marlene, Georgia, Lily, then for the Guys, we have: Jackson, Monroe, Edwards, Roosevelt, Van Buren, Jefferson, Washington, and so on...... Okay, Facts, let me find some for you, here......Okay, James Monroe was our 5th, president, and he was a "Democrat". He also, was a "Republican" in Virginia... He was 58 years old when he was Inaugurated... his VP, was Daniel Tompkins(originally from New York).. His term was during 1817-1825.. He was born on: April 28-1758 in Westmoreland Co. He died on July 4th-1831 in New York.. His wife, (the fifth Lady, her name was Elizabeth Kortright), James Monroe's wife...She was born is New York City, New York. Monroe attended the college of William and Mary. Studied the law under Thomas Jefferson. The first President to ride on a steamboat. Famous for the Monroe Doctrine. First President for whom a foreign capital was named (Monrovia, Liberia). And that's it for MONROE.. On too Woodrow Wilson: 28th President.. His term was between 1913-1921. He was born on Dec 29-1856 in Staunton, VA. He died on : Feb 3-1924 in Washingto D.C. His wife, and (28th Lady) her name was Ellen Galt. As President , he proposed "The Fourteen Points" which were designed to establish world peace. After signing the "Treaty of Versailles in June of 1919, he suffered a paralyzing stroke in October of that year. When he married Ellen Louise Axson Wilson (they were 25 & 43, years age difference), she was born is Savannah, Georgia. After serving as first lady for only 17 months, she died. Edith Bolling Galt Wilson was born in Wytheville, VA. She became the President's "window of the world" after his stroke in 1919. Wilson graduated from Princeton, Virginia Law School, and Johns Hopkins University. He was the first President to earn a doctorate degree (Political Science). Wilson was a Democrat. His VP. was Thomas Marshall (IN). His Secretary of State was: William Jennings Bryan (NE). And he was Inaugurated at age: 56.....Okay, these are all facts, from my sons, Little Debbie's "American Presidents & First Ladies 42 FACT CARDS.......These are all legitimate facts....So, if you have a printer, I would print away, if this is for school, hun......Or copy this all down.
