Hi, since my daughter of 3 month old has feeding problem, and she's gaining weight very slowly (only 10lbs8 now), should I start her on a high calorie formula like Neosure to help her gain weight? I know that's mostly for premature babies, but i'm so frustrated in her "feeding struggle" and i'm so concerned with her growth, I wonder if anyone with a full-term baby has used high-calorie formula before? Please advise.

Here's what it says on the Enfamil website. They recommend that you only use this formula under a doctor's direction.

Enfamil® EnfaCare® LIPIL®

Enfamil EnfaCare LIPIL is a milk-based, 22 Calorie per fluid ounce infant formula that provides high quality nourishment for the growth and development of babies with conditions such as prematurity and low birth weight. EnfaCare LIPIL is designed with extra amounts of important nutrients and has DHA and ARA at levels similar to worldwide breast milk averages. EnfaCare LIPIL should be used as recommended by your baby's doctor.

My son was on Similac Neosure because of his prematurity. He did gain weight quickly but the problem was he was spitting up a lot of it and had terrible gas. He has gained enough weight now that I switched to Enfamil Lipil. Ask your doctor what would be best for your baby.
