By Avengers, I mean based on the comic book, not the lame TV series.

I like the idea. But there are too many strong characters in the Avengers, and most of them will get their own movie first. eg. Hulk, Iron man, Captain America. X-MEN worked as a movie, so the Avengers should also. I am sure Marvel will try and make it some time in the future. I pity anyone who makes this movie because fans of the comic will surely be upset with whatever lineup they decide on.

It would be cool if they did, but I don't think they will. There have been so many different lineups that, no matter who was included in the movie, there will always be fans of the comic who are unhappy that their favorite was left out.
Additionally, it's a difficult thing to have a true team of equals the size of the Avengers in a movie because, in order to show the equal roles each member plays on the team, they would have to sacrifice a smooth continuity in a single movie. They can do it in the comics because they can change which members get the focus in the various issues to give all the members their due time, but it's just not possible in a 90 minutes or 2 hour movie.

Yes but it wont happen due to what the actors want as far as paychecks and also there would be too many opinions as far as which AVENGERS make the final cut.

Not if they are going to butcher the origins as much as they did in Fantastic Four and X-Men 3. The next question should be what roster should appear. I might like to see how they handle "The Gatherers"

Yes, and I like Marvels wanting to give Captian America, Thor and Ironman their own solo movies first.
