1950's: Well I guess you could take George Mikan or Bob Cousy here. The game was weak at this point, and Mikan was the superstar during these times. Bob Cousy was the magic man with his dribbling and passing skills.
1960's: Elgin Baylor (he always gets overlooked but a guy his size did some amazing things. He was an unstoppable scorer, and he could rebound as well. Old footage shows he was pretty amazing, and his statistics are insane.)
1970's: Kareem Abdul Jabbar (Arguably the greatest player to ever play the game, he dominated as a big man. He had the most unstoppable shot to ever appear in the league his Sky Hook. He was also a dominatin force on the defensive end.)
1980's: Magic Johnson (Again arguably the greatest player to ever play the game, and without a doubt the greatest Point Guard/Team player ever. His size gave him an advantage over most guards, and his vision was above and beyond anyone to ever play the game. He could play all 5 positions from PG to C, and he played the ultimate team game. He allowed his teammates to flourish while dominating the game without having to be the leading scorer.)
1990's: Michael Jordan (Most peoples pick for greatest of all time. I think he was the most dominating scorer, and one of the best perimeter defensive players ever. A little selfish, but amazing nonetheless. An absolute nightmare for opposing players, he is the sole reason for such NBA greats as Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Patrick Ewing, and others for never winning a championship.)
2000's: Its still in the making but there are several as none of the players really grabbed the mantle and ran with it. But a collection of Shaquille Oneal, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, and Kevin Garnett, would be my picks at this point. As most of them started their careers in the mid 90's but have made their imprints in the late 90's to early and mid 2000's.

I would take George Mikan in the 50's although Petit is a good choice- Mikan would definitely be the player of the 40's.
Bill Russell in the 1960's- I am not a Celtics fan but he did beat Wilt in almost every big game they played against each other.
Kareem a good choice for the 1970's- a lot of supposed to be greats in the 70's like Rick Barry and Pete Maravich. Maybe Walt Frazier or Dave Cowens get a mention
Magic Johnson in the 80's- again beat Bird more often than the other way around
Jordan in the 90's
I think Kobe Bryant in this decade until a Dirk Nowiktzski or Steve Nash win a title. Might also mention Wade or Duncan before 2009 is done

Discover now the best sport betting system: http://sport-betting-tips.checkhere.info
Too many people think of sports betting as just something they do in their past time. However, many people can see the potential that exists if you manage to have the right sports betting strategy and correct approach to betting in general. Are you sick of losing? Interested in finding out how to turn your luck around? Do you want to know which sports betting strategies stand to help you make the most from your betting?
Any good strategy should allow you to place bets based on a systematic method. Of course there is always a random element or so called luck involved, but betting is all about stacking the odds in your favor. There should be no guess work involved or bets placed based on gut feelings. Betting is a business and it should be treated like one. Any money you use for betting needs to be separate from money you use for your daily life or anything else. How can you possibly expect to follow a strategy with money that was originally set aside to pay next week's rent with? You can't. This will help you to focus on the task of betting and remove any emotional strings attached to the money.
So what makes a good strategy or what should you look for in a strategy before you decide to implement it? Any good strategy needs to have a positive expectancy. This means that in the long run you will win. The hit rate of the strategy needs to be above 50% for you to be able to profit in the long run. An ideal win rate should be between 60 to 70%, because you will need to cover the fees and other expensive associated with betting. Is it feasible to expect you'll be able to find a system that has a 100% win rate? No, it isn't. The best you can do is find a system that has a positive expectancy and stick with it. In the long run you will make more money than you can possibly lose.
Keep whatever information and news you have about the teams as up to date as possible. Any changes in the teams makeup or factors that affect how the players play will great affect the potential outcome of a match. Make sure that you are constantly up to date on every aspect that affects the potential outcome of a match. Information is the key to winning at sports betting.
