Will your views on Daniel Radcliffe change? Will you still watch Harry Potter movies? And will you still watch the Harry Potter movies if the production company replaced Daniel and would you have him replaced as Harry due to the play?

Daniel Radcliffe is an actor. What he does for a living is act. The play "Equus" is a wonderful play, which I have seen twice, and would see again.
If Daniel Radcliffe is acting in a role, as Harry Potter or any other character, why would that bother me. I am just interested in his performance in the role he is playing when I see him on film or on stage.
Why should he be replaced if he has established a character and carries his performance, as he obviosly has?
Why should it make the slightest difference that he is continuing to work in between making the Harry Potter films?
I think you would have to be a little sad to allow an actor not to take another role while he was also working outside that role.
Did Sean Connery suffer from any similar effect when he was doing Bond? Should he have done? No. Do you only think of him as Bond? No.

Oh please. It's not like he's doing porn. He's playing a phsychologically screwed up teen - who happens to have an intimate scene with a young girl who comes on to him. It's necessary to the story. It's not there to sell tickets - the role existed LONG before "Harry Potter" was cast in it.

Theatre is a reflection of life. Theatre is made up of stories about people and their lives. We are all naked A LOT in our lives. Sometimes it's necessary to show it on the stage.

Perhaps it's a bit unfortunate that the star of a movie series - stemming from a book series that appeals to children - has now grown up and is doing other roles. But you know what - he is NOT Harry Potter - he's an actor. He has a whole career in front of him - and HE gets to decide how to handle it. Personally - I think he's doing a wise thing.

I will still watch the Harry Potter movies - but would RATHER watch Equus. If the production company were to replace him in the Potter films - they would be making a major mistake. I'd still watch the films though - if my child wanted to see them. I've never been a huge fan of the films anyway.

1. play eq...who would watch it...

well, me, for one. I already have tickets; the play coincides with my already planned trip to London in April. I'm quite looking forward to seeing a british production of Equus; I saw a terrific American Prod a few years back, at the Alley Theatre in Houston.

2. Will my view of D. Radcliffe change?

I have more respect for him as an actor; it's a challenging role.

3. Will I still watch HP movies?

As a fan of the book, as long as they continue making quality adaptations, I will be there. If I didn't, it certainly wouldn't be because Daniel played a leading stage role in an award winning, famous play, in a top-notch production starring the actor who plays his Uncle Vernon in the movies.

4. Would I still watch if prod co replaced him?

why would they? Oh, you mean because very stupid people are offended at Daniel's choice of stage roles? He's an actor. It's a very good play. He'd be dumb to not do the role. If he's good (and it sounds like he is, he's getting good reviews) it will go a long way towards launching him into a strong, post-harry career as a serious actor.

5. Would you have him replaced as Harry due to the play?

only for professional reasons, such as the play interfered with the production schedule. The reason I think you are suggesting is inane and if WB were to make that choice I think they would find many people (such as myself) declining to see future HP movies.

Daniel is a new actor and doing just Harry Potter would be a big mistake.

"Equus" is a wonderful play, I saw it four times on Broadway, twice with Richard Burton and Anthony Perkins, and the opening with Anthony Hopkins.

The nude scene is short and it just starts in the beginning of the play in dark when he embraces a horse.

i want to watch the play, not because daniel radcliffe is there, but because the story looks interesting. if i won't be able to watch it, (due to travel and money constraints) i'd look for the 1970's film.

when the harry potter movie comes out in july, i would see daniel as harry potter. i'd separate his character in equus from his kiddie role in harry potter.

i hope the production won't replace daniel in the harry potter movies because he has established himself as the boy who lived. :P
