That's a tough question. Darkness has a certain appeal, I will admit. It can be seductive and exciting at times, and rather comforting at others (like when you just want to hide under the covers and never come out). However, darkness is summarily lonely. There is no friendship or love to be found in the dark.
Light is far more friendly. Although it takes more work - you can't hide in the light as you can in the darkness - its rewards are ultimately more satisfying. Light is happiness and openess. Darkness is hiding.
I prefer happiness, I think, even though hiding can nice sometimes.
As for which one is everlasting...I think that would have to be darkness. Darkness will always, always exist for people, but light can fade away. A person completely immersed in darkness can easily believe that light doesn't exist, but a person immersed in light knows that darkness exists. They have simply chosen to live above that darkness. Darkness is the state of being alone, and being alone is always an option. Not everyone can feel light, but everyone can feel the dark.
Even in a physical sense, darkness is the base of all things. There is more darkness in the universe than there is light, and light is created from things that were once dark.

I prefer light. It is full of hope, love and beauty. Darkness is full of fear, chillness, and lost. However i do love to sit in the dark because it is relaxing.
Which is everlasting? I'm am sad to say that if you sit in darkness that you feel that your time there in that darkness will stretch on forever and that it will never end. I claim that darkness is everlasting if you allow it to be.

Well, neither. Cause they can both be the same. Both can be everlasting and both can fade away because darkness is driven out by light and light is driven out by darkness.
