just keep running...regularly and eventually you'll get there...that's all there is to it.

The summer is a hard time to train to go faster - very hot and you want to work hard!. How did you feel when you last ran a mile? Were you very tired at the end or could you have run further? If you were very tired at the end then you will need to work a bit on your stamina and speed. If you could have run further then all you have to do is work on your speed. Working on speed is all about running shorter distances but faster than you need to, have a rest and repeat a couple of times. So in your case run perhaps quarter mile, have a rest to get your breath back and run the quarter mile again. Do this running fast and hard. If you need to work on stamina then you (for a relative short distance like a mile) run further than you need to, say 2 miles (20 minutes running). Run the distance a bit slower than you want to run the mile at but keep the speed consistent. The idea is to run the whole 2 miles and not need to rest. Try to keep a high speed though. The trick is of course to mix these 2 training methods together to get the right results. Try to run every other day, more if you want but not every day, alternate the training sessions. If you want to add some variety you can find a hill to run up or down. Running outside is ideal. You could swap the long, 20 minute run for perhaps a session in a swimming pool - the idea is that you are physically active for some 20 minutes or so. Not sure how you can work on speed apart from running really

Start out slow. Try walking a mile or two every day for a while. Even that will build your stamina a little bit. Then, do the same thing, but jog half the distance. When this becomes easier, try jogging all of it. Just keep running consistently and eventually you'll be able to run amile under 9 minutes easily. Remember, whenver you're exercising, puch yourself just a little more each day, because that's how you build stamina.
Also, this helps me, when you run, try to focus on something else. I focus on keeping my breathing steady, or else I get cramps. I count to 4 when inhaling, then count again to 4 while exhaling. This helps me not concentrate on how tired I am and how much is left to run.
Hope that helps!

start by trying to run a 1/4 mile in 2:15. Once you can do that repeatedly, move up to working on a 1/2 mile in 4:30. Then 3/4 mile in 6:45 and so on. Keep it at a steady pace through the entire run.

9 minutes is a long time, just run 2 miles a day and within a month you should be able to do it, 9 minutes is very easy.

Start running like 3 days a week. Every week try to run a little bit faster. Try making short term goals when your running.

Well basically you need to work on your speed and cardio, so start running daily, and eventually you will improve your mile time, but it takes time.

To me, it's pretty easy but it takes a lot out of you...just need to jog at a pace where you are going fast but not too fast and walk. To do this you may not walk half the time you have to jog fast
