In otherwords, I would like to know if you had your choice, which is the lesser or two evils. The snow HAS to be a pain in the a** every winter BUT....to sit on pins and needles here in the south, waiting and wondering if a 'canes gonna come blow your house away this summer kinda sucks.

I've been through hurricanes Hugo and Fran in North Carolina before moving to Colorado to get dumped on by a blizzard.

I would rather get a snowstorm that knocks out power than a hurricane. It is easier to get warm under extra blankets than it is to get cool when it is 90F with no fan. And snow is more fun to play in than floodwaters. But I did get snow blown up in my roof vents that leaked down into the house. And my steps and driveway are going to need re-surfaced. Overall I would go with the blizzard.

I'd go along with James and opt for a blizzard. Fortunately don't get hurricanes here so I've not experienced one first hand.

The thing about snow is that you can cope with it, it doesn't just hit you so you have time to prepare. If you live in an area likely to get snowstorms you can stock up on food and water, buy a generator, buy bottled gas heaters and even if all the power is out it's only an inconvenience. A hurricane on the other hand is more than an inconvenience if you happen to be in the way of it.
