Ortiz...top of the draft stud should hammer out 45-50 HR and 130 rbi

Jeter...still among the elite SS and is very consistant across the board

Ramirez...the best young SS in the game, offers power ,speed and will score a ton of runs

Rivera....shut down stoppers are hard to come by and on a Yankee team he will have plenty of save opportunities and has 1 or 2 more good years in him

Kazmir...young pitcher that should be improving every year, nice K totals, wins should come and very solid ERA and Whip (downside is arm problems)

Wells is a very good ballplayer and should post even better numbers this year but outfielders are more plentiful and Wells may actually come available for you to draft again

Bedard is a good pitcher but the league is full of good pitchers, he had a great run last year and should continue to do well but he also wore down and had some pretty ugly outings (plus the Orioles are not a team on the rise so wins may be hard to come by)

Now if you use the strategy I suggest you have 2 stud SS which means that at a position that has very little depth and the falloff from the top half dozen to the rest is pretty dramatic you have a great bargaining chip to add either pitching or a top outfielder. Also remember that pitching is easy to find during the year (some pickups i made off waivers last year for various fantasy teams...Verlander, Sanchez, Olsen, Josh Johnson, Hamels,Bedard,Arroyo, Cain, Chris Young,Wang,Jered Weaver and Ervin Santana). Look at teams now, I see at least 6 pitchers that could breakout this year just like last year.

David Ortiz (one of the top 5 bats in baseball)
Vernon Wells (5 tool guy that is getting better and better)
Derek Jeter (Always good in every category and tough SS spot)
Scott Kazmir (A young stud on the rise)
Mariano Rivera (A dominant closer for a high winning team)

1) Hanley Ramirez- young and will be a star
2) Vernon Wells- Still young and powerful produces huge numbers
3) Scott Kazmir- A young pitcher destined to be a star
4) David Ortiz- 53 hrs last year, over 100 RBIs again, keep him
5) Derek Jeter- His stats are too good to pass up. ( Keep Bedard if you don't want to use the util spot on Jeter, which I don't know why you wouldn't )
Riveria is nice, but he is 37 years old.

Ortiz - he's big Papi
Wells - still young and consistent, you'll know what you are getting.
Jeter - he's getting there, maybe 2 years left as premier SS and Ramirez is still young and proving himself, you don't know what you'll get. Young SS's with potential are a dime a dozen in the minors.
Rivera - 1 more year left, he's getting tired but still one of a few closers you can hand the ball to for an entire season and feel comfortable.
Alex Gordon - if you don't have the option then go with Kazmir, his K's will only go up with age (re..CC Sabathia)

I would keep:
•Ortiz because he has another 4-5 good years left in him
•Ramirez because of he is a great young player
•Kazmir's because he is still not in his prime
•Bedard, but only if you need another pitcher
•Rivera still has 3-4 more years left in him
