Criminal cases must be tried by an impartial jury because it is very hard to put a person in jail when he is innocent. Likewise, criminal cases deal with the liberty of a person and putting an accused inside the jail must be proven beyond reasonable doubt and not by bias.

Let's say you did something and you go to court, and the part of the Jury is against you because they know what you did, Do you think that your getting a legal trial? Do you think there is a big chance you will get convicted of that offense? Of course you will, so that is why the Jury before they actually go to court, to have the information of your case, the court system chose people who will be the Jury without previous knowledge of the events or the crime that you did or someone else did. That is a legal trial.

That's just a flaw of the system... the idea was not suppose to be that way but today, will information on the news as it occurs, it is really impossible not to taint a jury.
