My parents are Chinese, and they consider shaving leg shaving unnatural. I don't know about underarms, but they both dont shave there. I'm 13 and I want to start shaving, but im embarassed about asking, because my mom will probably think its a little weird. what should i do?

yeah same with me i have 2 wait untill my next b day,but how i snuck the conversation is was that when my mom said "you need more shorts" i said things like "well i'll never where them because of my gorilla legs" and i used 2 say how all my other freinds do and crack jokes about how embarasing it is at pool partys and stuff.So try it....cause ya have 2 grow up some time!:-D

As we get older we find ourselves in a locker room with other girls, trying on clothes or sleeping over. I am sure your parents would understand that you want to blend in a bit more. Alternatively, you could just spend the $2 at the store and get disposable razors yourself, right?
I will also say that the key to comfortable shaving is to shave with downward strokes - the same direction that the hair grows. It matters a bit less on your legs (though some women get razor burn or bumpy stubble from dragging the razor upwards) but it is important on you arm pits so deodorant doesn't sting after you shave (also the bikini area, always down and toward the center there).

Shave your legs & especially under your arms. It appears more feminine & attractive to men.

This is america honey..not CHina. No offense to your parents but really usually if you play the"Everyone else is doing it" card enough times parents usually give in..mine always do! But really just talk to them don't be ashamed after all they ARE your parents.

Most woman shave their armpits. Its kinda gross if you see a girl lift up he arm and u see all this hair.
