It's a matter of personal preference, really. There will always be those who swear that Brand X is far better than Brand Y...and those who swear that Brand Y is far better than Brand X. It has a lot to do with how your baby is shaped, too -- and whether you have a boy or a girl comes into play with that too sometimes.

Personally, I find Huggies Supreme (as contrasted to Huggies "baby shaped" and other lines) to be the most absorbent, and that's what I use for overnights. During the day I use Pampers Cruisers -- I find the tabs more flexible than the Huggies, but again, I think Huggies are more absorbent. Also, I think the Pampers Cruisers are more "streamlined" and the Huggies Supreme more bulky, so I don't really like using the Huggies during the day.

When my children were smaller I tried Pampers "Swaddlers" -- and hated them. They fit the kids badly, cut into their thighs, you name it, I hated them. (Especially for my daughter: she got really chunky thighs at that point and the Pampers were awful for her; they fit my son better, he had thinner legs.) It's not just a matter of brand but of the lines made by that brand.

Anyway, in this house, for my boy/girl twins, at this moment (they're 14 months): Pampers Cruisers and Huggies Supreme. Other than a few overnights that I could count the number of on one hand (and that's for twins) we've NEVER had a leak, and those few were solved immediately by switching to the next size diaper.

Incidentally, a great place, in my opinion, to shop for diapers is at 1800diapers.com -- the prices are good, you can buy really large packages, and they deliver to your door. You can also arrange for timed delivery, eg to have 2 boxes delivered three weeks, or whatever.

Ah, this a question I can answer! I have a 6 month old and I went through the same thing. In the end, it comes down to personal preference. Here is what I can tell you:
Price... the are pretty comparable, you can always find sales and bargains
Scent... Pampers has a slight scent, baby powder or some such thing, Huggies has no scent
Bulk... Pampers are thinner and dont get as bulky as Huggies when they fill up with urine.
Dryness... In my experience, both hold an amazing amount of urine, and after a whole night both still seem dry to the touch
Leakage... On the sides there are little flaps to prevent leakage on both. On Huggies, when you open the diaper, you need to pull at the flaps a little to separate them from the rest of the diaper. Pampers, the flaps dont need to be tugged at. On both, the flaps work at holding in little messes:)
Fit... Both stretch around the legs, but Huggies stretch around the back as well. Pampers, you have to be more careful when putting them on. Theres no give, so its easier to get it too tight because you dont want it to leak out the back. Huggies is stretchy, so you can tighten it up without worrying that you are squeezing your child. In my experience, Huggies kept the messes from going out the back better than Pampers.

For that reason, and because I couldnt do the scent with Pampers, I am a Huggies fan. Costco brand diapers are comparable to Huggies as well, so if you are looking for a chaper alternative, I would go with those. Good luck!

I prefered Pampers Swaddlers for size Newborn, 1, and 2....they seemed to fit better than the Huggies. The fastener tabs were strechier than Huggies. Now, at size 3, I use both...whichever I can get on sale. I like the Pampers Cruisers and Huggies Supreme better than the Pampers Baby Dry and regular Huggies.

I used Pampers or Luvs. For whatever reason, Huggies leaked on both of my kids. I don't know why, but every time I used Huggies within 30 minutes I would have to change their entire outfit because it would be wet. it must have just been the way they fit my kids. I've heard other people swear by them. I would suggest buying 1 pack of each and then go with whichever ones work that are the cheapest. You will go through a lot of them and they get expensive.
One thing to compare, too, when comparing prices is to make sure they have the same number of diapers per pack. Sometimes one looks cheaper until you see it comes with less diapers per pack.

I've always found pampers to be the better brand of diapers. Even though huggies were cheaper...my kids would soak through the huggies IMMEDIATELY. Plus now pampers has this cool program where you look inside the bag and there is a sticker inside. You take the sticker out, go to their website, and enter the special code from the sticker onto the website. You get to use the points to buy things (I was able to get my daughter a special "Dora the Explorer" talking backpack. She was thrilled!)

we've not at all tried Luvs on our twins (now 6 months previous). We used Pampers at the same time as they were first born, newborn length. They extra healthful a lot extra appropriate than Huggies newborns. Then our daughter all started getting rashes on her the front the position the diaper became. We switched to Huggies and have not had a difficulty because. Pampers newborns extra healthful a lot extra appropriate than Huggies newborns because the Pampers were a lot extra versatile, the position because the Huggies regarded stiff. They use Huggies now and characteristic no issues

I think pampers. Pampers and Huggies perform the same, but Huggies are loud to touch. When I hold my baby, huggies make it sound like she is wearing a plastic bag. Pampers are much softer and quieter.

Target brand diapers. Have never disappointed me, and are cheaper than both Pampers and Huggies. Besides, Huggies always smell really bad after the baby pees.

I loved pampers in the beginning because they were so soft and stretchy and smelled good. after she started peeing more ( when she was about 10lbs.)though I noticed that i could feel dampness on the outside of her clothes. (and yes i changed her regularly!) Also when she pooped it would always ooze out of the leg or up her back. Now i love huggies because they stretch really well and they don't seem to have that damp feeling or the leaking poop. Huggies now definitely!! If you sign up for the pampers and huggies websites they will send you samples and coupons. Also sign up for the enfamil and similac websites and they will send you samples and coupons as well.

They're equally good. We buy whichever we can get for less. Usually that means Huggies because that's what they sell at Costco in bulk. But we did buy a few cases of Pampers this month because amazon.com had them on sale ($25 0ff $99 or more on Pampers when you use the code Pampers2 during checkout. You also get free shipping directly to your house and you don't have to pay sales tax).
