They spend billions and billions and billions of dollars on wars , yet they forget about here. They totally forget that there are are homeless people, starving people, that have no where to go, because they shelters are full, and they have to live outside,...sleep outside. The only reason I am bringing this up is because I recently went to Boston, and I saw so many people outside, sitting in ICE, with NOTHING. I swear, the weather must have been 15 degrees, and some of them were sitting there with wrecky old overcoats, filled with rips, and tears, and with no gloves, hats, mittens, most of them. Some of them have alcohol, and drug problems,....that doesn't mean they are bad people, it just means they need to go somewhere that can help them, not be ignored, and left alone. And some people don't even have problems, they just don't have any money. Who agrees that the government should really SERIOUSLY DO SOMETHING about this, because its a problem getting worse and worse.

Because the majority of us are here to generate money for the wealthy. I could go on about the fact that there are ways to calculate how much you make and what you can afford to buy. Every time the minimum wage goes up the cost of everything else goes up thus the poor stay poor . I will agree the homeless are there for a reason some have health issues mental and others, some have drug/alcohol problems some are not smart enough to know how to manage their lives. If you look close enough you will realize that even the homeless are an industry they create jobs for people . We should take better care of the weakest among us. As the population ages I predict we will see a spike in the number of homeless and that is the saddest thing the future has to hold.

I'm always amazed at the people who say the homeless just 'need to get a job'. When I lived in boston there was a homeless guy who walked up and down the block and talked into his sleeve all day long. What job is he going to hold? Air traffic controller? There are also many homeless families in which the parents are working full time jobs but still can't afford rent, food, clothes, and the rest of our basic needs. But there is also the fact that some people because of their illness or other issues don't want help but there is still a lot of good to do.

You have a lot to learn about human nature. We are not programmed to share and share alike. This is why people who have millions or even billions of dollars use the money to buy tons of status symbols they don't need rather than help cure diseases or feed the hungry.

The REALLY sad part is that if you switched the homeless and the ultra rich, things would be EXACTLY the same.

It's sweet that you care about the less fortunate though.

Current politics like to feed our tax $ into corporations that build these military hardware. They are very, very expensive which means its really PROFITABLE for them.

I do agree some of the folks youre talking about are lazy but some suffer from mental disorders or whose luck ran bad for so long that they gave up.

Think about this, if we decide not to build just one military jet plane, all that $ could help a lot of downtrodden folks.

Basically, the government cares about the needs and desires of Corporate America and the rich. The needs of working class people and the poor really don't matter to the rulers. That's why there is money for missiles but not for the homeless.

The government is too busy with trying to keep the US from getting bombed, they don't have time to help people who mostly are just too lazy to help themselves. Don't take sympathy for people who'd rather buy a drink than a blanket or food.

You do realize that when you say "the government" that what you mean is the people, that is, me and you.

I'm taxed enough, thanks, I donate to charity, and it takes all I have to provide the upkeep of the people I'm actually responsible for.

The unemployment rate is at below the natural rate in many places. That means that there are positions in search of people, and lots of them.

Some people just won't be helped.

Tell them to get a job. If they can't find one tell them to check out the gov't funded program called the "War in Iraq". It has huge funding and is always in need of more volunteers.
